Scott Thompson and Peachtree Station
Scott Thompson and Alan Sanders formed Peachtree Station in 1995. Often called the Best Country Band in Atlanta, they have opened up for Travis Tritt, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers, Mark Wills, Jerry Jeff Walker and Little Big Town. They have also performed with Charlie Daniels. Scott plays a variety of songs including rock, pop, oldies, Buffett and of course, country.
GrassRoots 9
GrassRoots 9, led by Dr. Kirby Black of Acworth GA, provides bluegrass and gospel music to delight and bless. The members came together to enjoy this music and found a ready and waiting audience for their quality sound.
Mike Watson Band
Mike and the Mike Watson Band are noted for their blues interpretations, but you will find a wide variety of musical styles performed at any given show, including tunes from such great artists as: Merle Haggard, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger, The Allman Brothers, Neil McCoy, B.B. King, Elmore James, Muddy Waters and of course tunes from the pen of Mike Watson.
The Lone Mountain Band
Since their formation in 1997, the Lone Mountain Band has played regularly in the Southeast and pleases every audience with their solid approach to traditional bluegrass, good taste and showmanship. Stellar musicians all, they come with guitar and banjo championships and even a classical piano background to prove it.
Homeward Bound
Discovered by our scouts in the Dawsonville McDonalds one Friday morning, this group of talented musicians will inspire you with their gospel music. They really put on a show.
Alpharetta City Band
Like a day in the park in the 1890s, Alpharetta’s own 50-member adult concert band will welcome you to the fair with clear recognizable sounds of Americana music. The Alpharetta City Band is Alpharetta’s “Best kept secret,” providing entertainment for events in Alpharetta and the surrounding communities for the last 19 years. This volunteer organization is an on-going adult activity program of the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department. |
Liz and the Tomcats
For “jaw-dropping, chair swaying stuff that legends are made of” you cannot miss hearing Liz Brown sing her Atlanta blues. In 1983 Liz moved to the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina and discovered amazing, young musicians attending Appalachian State University and the traditional mountain musicians, like Doc Watson. It was at this musical crossroads that Liz formed the experimental blues band Liz and the Tomcats. Liz lives in Atlanta and performs up and down the east coast.
The Pearly Gates
Gospel music with a twist is what you will find when you hear Italian singer Teresa and her husband Daniel Johnson sing. Since they began their music ministry, The Pearly Gates have gathered recognition and awards for excellence for their music.
E. B. Reece
E. B. Reece is an up-and-coming star from Ellijay, Georgia. A student at Gilmer County High School, E. B. writes and sings her own music, characterized perhaps as country and folk. You may also hear a few numbers from artists like Sugarland, Michelle Branch, and Jewel.
Outta the Blue
The Holloway sisters and Outta the Blue play hard driving bluegrass with just a hint of country. The sisters will delight you with their winning smiles as well as entertain you with their talents. The Holloways reside in Loudon County, Tennessee and come from a musical family.
The Musselwhite Family
Performing in eight different countries over the past 5 years in many different venues, the Musselwhite Family's bluegrass band from Peachtree City rarely gets away without a standing ovation. They may have some of the youngest pickers around, but age isn't a factor when you listen to the close family harmony and hard driving instrumentals. You will tap you toes to traditional tunes like Sally Goodin, Salt Creek, and Billy in the Low ground, as well as hear great harmonies on old gospel and accapella numbers.
Dune Buggy the Clown Magic Show
When not entertaining in the crowds all around the fair grounds, Dune Buggy will amaze both adults and children with a series of magic shows.
