The City of Alpharetta Mission for the Old Milton Country Fair is to provide citizens of the City of Alpharetta with quality, cost-effective services and leadership delivered by highly competent professionals in a manner consistent with planned growth and future economic development. |
| The Lions Club Mission is to give back to the families in the local communities by tackling tough problems like blindness, diabetes and drug abuse and finding help and training for the deaf, disabled, underprivileged and the elderly. In fact, whatever the community needs to make life better, the Lions Club is there to help. Their Motto is “We Serve”. The Lions Goal is to make a difference and they have through bringing rays of sunshine to the darkness of countless people around the world. Lions have established the majority of eye banks worldwide, funded ground breaking research on leading causes of blindness, organized eyeglass & hearing aide recycling efforts, provided for eye and hearing assistance, and helped hundreds of thousands of visually impaired people develop the skills to live productive lives. e.g. providing Braille Writers, White Canes, much needed helpful companions such as the “Great Seeing Eye Dogs”, etc.. In addition, disaster relief provisions, including food, supplies and healthcare screenings and the preservation of our Water, Air, & Land are just a few more projects that the Lions Clubs are involved in. The Lions Youth Outreach Program focuses on volunteerism and steers as many young people as possible away from harmful behavior through community service involvement and International Youth Camps & Exchange Programs. The Lions award thousands of academic scholarships each year. Literacy and vocational training in underprivileged areas are also high on Lions Clubs’ Service Agenda. |
